Swishy Vintage 50s Full Skirt Party Dress with Rhinestones -

Fabulous Flaired Skirt! What a Looker
This dress makes you want to holler "Hey, Ricky!" It's got that I Love Lucy flavor and would be such a kick to wear to a party. We love navy party dresses because they photograph so beautifully. If you're wearing this dress, you'll surely want to be tagged in the party photos posted on Facebook.
This stunner is from the early 50s and features a fitted bodice that's got a stand-up collar that is as chic as all get out. There are two horizontal faux-breast pockets, each accented with a sparkling rhinestone buttons that are fabulous. The dress buttons like a classic shirt style dress and has built-in shoulder pads. Then the voluminous skirt takes over and makes a big statement with its huge circular sweep. We've shown this with a crinoline, but you don't really need to wear one for that extra poof--the dress is plenty swishy on its own.
The fabric is a rayon or acetate blend of some sort that's got a crinkled texture to it. (It's like plissé, only with a shiny taffeta like quality, perhaps it is taffeta.) It feels slinky and it's not particularly airy or lightweight which means it's a dancin' dress for sure.
This navy number is one of those rare and hard to find larger sizes, so you better snag it quickly. It's just waiting for a pair of red wedge heels and some vintage red lipstick to be worn with it. Lucille Ball's red hair color optional, but certainly awesome.
Condition:
VERY GOOD. The underarms have very faint light staining. It's so light that it was hard to get any kind of image of the variance in the blue, but if you are looking carefully, the pits are ever so slightly darker than the rest of the dress. The rhinestone buttons are slightly cloudy, but all stones are present. The dress is missing the original belt, but does have string loops if you'd like to wear it with one.
