Trompe L'oeil Vintage 60s/70s Crepe Dress -  SOLD
The Beadwork Builds the Details
We almost cried when this one showed up in our inventory. Trompe l'oeil, people. You know--trick of the eye. This brown dress is embellished with baguette beads that pretend to be buttons, belt and seams. Isn't it amazing?

This is probably from the late 60s or early 70s. We love how the bronze beads stand out so perfectly and really do try to fake us into thinking that the details are more than just additives. Wait. They are. They're a trick of the eye.

This dress is fully lined. There's the illusion of collar, breast pockets, waist seam, and belt. And that belt even has a little bit of beaded fringe on it. See. That's why we almost cried. It's just too good to be true. Remember when Prada did those trompe l'oeil coat dresses? This is right up in the same league of coolness, 'cept it's vintage.

It closes in the back with a metal zipper. It's missing just one bead.

Trompe l'oeil, people. (Never mind that we could never pronounce the word l'oeil.)The dress is cool. Our French pronounciation? Not as much.

Condition:
VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT, there is one bead missing. There is extremely faint underarm fade on one armpit and one small area at top of shoulder seam.
