Nobody interprets classic Palm Beach affluence quite the way that Lilly Pulitzer does. Hers is a world that's pink and green and monied. Her Mixed Drinks print is the epitome of all that is sacred in the world of resort wear. At once cocktailian and clam bakeian, this print allows you to wear your vacation lifestyle quite literally. (Look it up. If you're into cocktails, that's "cocktailian." Are clam bakes your thing? You're a "clam bakeian" sort of person.)
Lingo aside, there's nothing in the world more wonderfully adorable and utterly charming as the Preptonic ideal that Lilly creates. That's because she's been churning out her laid back empire of sugar-coated pastel textiles decade after decade. One woman makes juice, another wonders what to wear when making juice. Lilly does both and her clothes appear stain free!
During the aughts, this was her take on a classic sun dress. When everyone else was worried about Y2K, Pulitzer was hiding her signature in the rim of a margarita glass.
This soft pink cotton number is adorned with frou-frou drinks, dainty drink umbrellas, and margarita/cosmo-tinis. The lime green gingham border print is overlaid with lobsters and crabs and cocktails, oh my! The dress has string ties at the shoulders (all the better to accentuate your tan) and a pert ruffle at the top of the bust. It's fully lined in white cotton and zips at the side with a concealed nylon zipper. Smocking at the back gives this flirty frock ease of motion.

Condition:
There are small light spots on the dress. The last 4 photos show the spots. They're faint and not bigger than the head of a push pin. Two are located on the lap area and the other two are over by a side seam. The dress is otherwise, clean and ready to wear. Spots are hard to notice until you're right on top of them. The scale is off on these close-up photos--they are much smaller and lighter than they appear.
